======Applications - Distributed Computing====== ====Free / Open Source==== [[http://research.cs.wisc.edu/htcondor/|HTCondor]] - Our goal is to develop, implement, deploy, and evaluate mechanisms and policies that support High Throughput Computing (HTC) on large collections of distributively owned computing resources. Guided by both the technological and sociological challenges of such a computing environment, the Center for High Throughput Computing at UW-Madison has been building the open source HTCondor distributed computing software (pronounced "aitch-tee-condor") and related technologies to enable scientists and engineers to increase their computing throughput. [[http://www.cse.nd.edu/~ccl/|The Cooperative Computing Lab]] at the University of Notre Dame seeks to give ordinary users the power to harness large systems of hundreds or thousands of machines, often called clusters, clouds, or grids. We create real software that helps people to attack extraordinary problems in fields such as physics, chemistry, bioinformatics, biometrics, and data mining. We welcome others at the University to make use of our computing systems for research and education. [[http://drqueue.org/|DrQueue]] is a powerful open source distributed render farm manager, used for a range of applications across the visual effects industry and for general batch processing jobs in science, engineering and finance. DrQueue is licensed under GNU GPL Version 3.
